Gareth Williams


After performing in Rep in Sheffield, Belfast and Devon, Gareth worked with touring companies Red Ladder and 7:84, whose production of One Big Blow led to the formation of the groundbreaking acappella group, The Flying Pickets.  Gareth was the group’s original bass singer, enjoying great worldwide success including the single, Only You which was the UK’s Christmas number one hit in 1983, staying at the top spot for five weeks.

In the West End he has appeared in Jail House Rock at The Piccadilly and Jolson at The Victoria Palace.

Recent theatre includes The Secret Garden; Comedy of Errors and Macbeth  for Chester Performs, A Winter’s Tale  at  Sheffield Crucible. The American Tour of “The Caretaker”, The Australian and West End production of Waiting For Godot, Far From The Madding Crowd (ETT), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (No1 Tour) and My Fair Lady No1 Tour).
